A winter carnival is a community festival held in the coldest part of the year, typically running parades, fireworks, outdoor competitions, and children's events across one or more weekends. The 2026 New York calendar has two winter carnivals, at Saranac Lake and Lake George, both in the Adirondacks. Both opened in the first week of February, though the Lake George date was unconfirmed. No other event on the calendar started before April.
