The exhibition hall is the indoor building where a fair displays judged entries that are not animals: vegetables and field crops, canning and baking, quilts, needlework, flowers, photography, and youth projects, each carrying a ribbon showing its placing. It is usually the quietest building on the grounds. It is also the clearest single view of what a given county grows and makes, which is why long-time fairgoers often start there rather than at the midway.
